Yeah, I can only say I kinda like them, since I only know them so much from whatever information that has been made public about them. I don’t know them by person, so I cannot make that bold declaration that I like them.

One thing’s for sure - I like them enough to be attracted to read their news, or to support their works. And I admire them too!

So here’s my list. Ready? 

13 Celebrities I Kinda Like!

1. Zoe Tay - Yes, the Queen of Caldecott hill. She didn’t get her status and title for nothing, ya? I like her because she doesn’t seem to have big airs around her, though she’s undisputedly the No. 1 and she gives me the feeling that she’s just like a big sister, at times a motherly figure, to people in the entertainment industry.

2. Angelina Jolie - She’s hot! What else can I say? Also, she epitomises all the traits one can find in an alpha-female, so yes, I’m inclined to say that she is one. If you’re wondering whether I’ll be catching her latest movie Wanted, yes I will be! The fact that she’s so actively involved in community work (she’s an United Nations Ambassador) means she’s one celebrity who’s making positive use of her star status to create waves in environments that could benefit from such influence.

3. Alec Su - Hmm, really. I cannot find the reason why I like him, except that he has a look that endears to me and an acting style I take to. In case you are totally foreign to him, he’s a Taiwanese actor-singer who has acted in a very popular TV drama “Huan Zhu Ge Ge” as the Fifth Prince.

4. Huang Biren - I love her acting! She is probably the only actress in MediaCorp whom I find has the depth and breadth. She doesn’t overdo it and yet the way she expresses the innermost emotions in her acting has the punch needed for a viewer to connect to and feel for. She’s a natural!

5. Diana Ser - 3 words sum up my admiration for her: “Beauty With Brawns”.

6. Kim Jae Won - The Korean drama star with devilishly boyish charm! Oh, I have a soft spot for boyish-looking guys. *blush* Btw, translated to Chinese, his name is “Jin Zai Yuan”.

7. Tom Hanks - Another natural when it comes to acting, especially roles that speak to the viewers with body language (eyes, facial expressions etc) than with physical action. A rookie can never achieve the kind of effect Tom Hanks have with the viewers in all his movies. 

8. Nanako (Song Dao Cai Cai Zi) - From her name you can guess she’s a Japanese. Yeah, she’s an actress with porcelain skin and beauty that one can’t take their eyes from.

9. Josh Groban - Have you heard of a voice that sounds like it comes from Heaven? If you are still missing from this piece of paradise, go to the nearest CD shop and grab a copy of his album. You won’t regret I promise you. My jaw dropped when I first heard him sing in the series “Ally McBeal”. Well, I wasn’t the only one whose jaw dropped. Ally and all the others too! How can anyone have such an angelic voice? I can only wonder… hmm…

10. Jeff Chang - His crystal clear vocals are enough to make anyone mesmerise in his songs, really. Click here if you like to read about my review of his most recent concert in Singapore.

11. Maggie Cheung - It is really a pity that she is not really acting now. She has evolved remarkably, from her acting skills to how she looks. I love her fashion style! It makes a statement, yet isn’t loud. Impressive.

12. Jessica Alba - It’s hard not to envy her. She’s got the looks, the body, the career and the family!

13. Tony Leung Chiu Wai - Saving the best for last. Introducing my all-time favourite since eons ago, till now. Hey, I’m pretty loyal, you know? Again, his boyish grin attracted me initially, and later on, his eyes. Boy do they talk!

OK, from the list it’s easy to tell the criteria in which I go by to select these 13 celebrities I kinda like. I admit I go by their looks quite a bit. Hey, isn’t that what celebrities are meant to sell? Luckily I still kept my eyes and ears for talent.
