Forgiveness is a virtue. We all agree, don’t we? Yet, this could also be one of the hardest character to develop, as we shall see.

During my RCIA home session today, we touched on this topic. It was a really brief discussion, arose as a by-product of our main subject for the week. Yet, it was enough for me to have some sentiments towards this.

There are surely people around us, if not ourselves, who have been through a period of intense emotions from others’ behaviour and action that had a direct impact on us. And it’s usually, if not always, negative.

What do you do when you have problems? Do you seek help from others, go to the library for references, do online research? It depends on what type of situation that is, isn’t it?

If it is a work-related challenge, you may check with a colleague or a friend who is in the same industry as you. If it is personal – family or intimate relationships, friendships, financial hiccups etc, then the source of help may very well vary.

When you review all these various sources of support, have you left out a very important one?

Yourself.
