Problems!

Well, in case you haven’t notice, I’ve discovered some ‘bugs’ in this template. Please be patient with me while I fix them up ya ;)

Meanwhile, hope you bear with the irregularities in formating and some break-down in functions. If you find that you can’t read my previous entries, do go to the Archives section. There you will find all my posts nicely kept and filed for you to enjoy.

Back to the theme editor … :(

Ok, I have a confession to make. Recently, I went for a makeover photoshoot. I shall not divulge too many details on why and where I had this. It’s suffice to know that yes, i went for it, and I have something to say!

I have “cute” eyes, or that’s the favourite term of expression my sister loves to use to describe my round eyes. Yes, they are round and narrow in terms of its width, so most people will find my eyes are pretty small. But in actual fact, they are not really that small, they just are not wide enough. :D

“Sorry seems to be the hardest word”.

We all have erred, in big and small ways, past and present. But, how many of us have truly learnt the lesson behind our mistakes, and bravely admitted them? Do you apologise to your subordinates, your children, your younger brothers and sisters, your colleges, your friends, your spouse/partner when you realised you did something wrong and you have hurt them through your words or actions?

The Moment

Different strokes, different folks. Every person is an unique individual. We are touched by different ways. A word may mean a lot to one, while totally meaningless to another. What makes one cry may make another laugh with hysteria.

Similarly, there will be manifold moments in our lives that make a difference to us. It is that second, or split second, that something inside you stirred. It gives you a revelation, a discovery, a unique feeling, that changes your perspective on life in general, gives new meaning to your identity, new purpose in life. It makes you go “Wow! I never knew I can feel like this!”.

TheWokGirl1

Literally. This is a granny-old clock bought by my grandmother for my sister. She’s kept it all this while, moving and travelling with her even when she wasn’t in Singapore.

TheWokGirl2Besides the fact that it is a cute, funny looking girl, it has a super loud and hilarious alarm tone that not only guarantees you waking up when she goes off, it also ensures your heartbeat quickening by at least 100 times before you jump out of bed, wondering what on earth has happened. Yes, it’s that powerful.

Happily as we stood beside it eating our super yummy delicious ice-cream, we were oblivious to this gigantic thing right behind us. Until two guys came up and started talking to each other “Is this real?” “Yes la, I think it is”. Ok, this caught my attention, aroused my curiousity and I turned around to check what is this thing that is causing the buzz.

Rebirth Of My New Theme

Why is this a rebirth? Because, over the last few months where I have been dabbling with the design of my template for my blog, I have killed not less than 3 designs – those that costed me numerous sleepless nights, many rings of dark circles and few starry starry eyes moments.

When I almost wanted to give up doing it myself, then comes this design, which I found it quite suitable and may only need few customisations. So, the ‘designer’ in me jumped out again, uncontrollably, and I found myself tweaking the codes yet again. How wrong was I! It wasn’t as simple as I thought and expected, but this time round, due to all the experiences gained over the previous aborted projects, I knew pretty well what I want for the site.

Decisions, decisions, decisions. We make them all the time, day by day, hour by hour, minute by minute. From minute ones like deciding what to wear for the day, what to have for breakfast to more weighted ones like investment issues, what furniture to buy for the new house, which project to undertake etc. All these involve varying degree of analysis, market research, discernment and discussion before you say yes or no to each of the options laid before you.

When you are at work, the company rule dictates each person’s role and responsibility, hence their authority over the level of decisions to be made. The sky is clear and neither conflicts nor confusion will exist.

Poster Girl

If you have attended basic marketing lessons, then besides the infamous 4Ps, this would be the next thing you will learn. Used in advertising and copywriting, it is akin to the bible for any marketing to be successful in gaining Attention, Interest, Desire and finally, most importantly, Action.

Look at these posters here.

These life-sized posters are now displayed at the exit of City Hall MRT station, right at the entrance of Raffles City Shopping Centre. How could I, or for the matter, anyone miss them!

Poster Guy

Let me begin this post with a very brief extract from one of the gospels regarding Jesus. When Jesus went back to his hometown Nazareth, after having performed many miracles with his power and gained the admiration and respect of all those who was blessed by him, none of his fellow countrymen believed he was the son of God and possessed miraculous power God bestowed on him. Because they knew him since the day he was born, and saw how normal he was like anyone of them, the son of a carpenter. Because they were familiar with Jesus, too familiar. As a result, they have no faith.
