Archive for December, 2006

Oh we’re back to this topic again. Something that has been talked about, discussed and probably debated to death.

Are looks important? How much emphasis should one place on looks in their search for a partner? Why are men so superficial? Why must we spend so much time and money to look pretty and handsome when we should invest that in a book maybe? Does that mean if I’m ugly I’m doomed to remain single forever?

I’ve explained in detail why looks are important in my previous post on Attraction Quotient. So I’m not going to repeat myself here and bore you to tears.

Announcement: I’m Flying!

I woke up one morning and realised I’ve got a pair of wings! God sent an angel down and fixed me a pair while I was sleeping. So now I’m free and able to fly to wherever I want to go, whenever I wish to go.

How nice it is …

What a nice dream too.

My dear readers, the above is a hint that I’m travelling till end of December. I’m experiencing the usual problem that travellers face – no constant and assured internet access. As such I may not be posting as much as I like from now on till I’m back.

I got my inspiration to write this from the award-winning movie “Million Dollar Baby” by Clint Eastwood.

You’ve heard of many stories of how milionnaires made their first million. Many of them went on to become multi, mega millionnaires. Few of them became billionnaires. Some of them lost their millions and ran into million dollars debt.

Life has its ups and downs. Sometimes we ride the waves, sometimes we go against them, sometimes we’re brought under the water but with our fighting spirits engaged, we’ll usually manage to get out of it and ride the waves again.

Profound Profanity

The setting: In a MRT ride.

Me: Sitting at the first seat from the right, reading my book and minding my own business.

The subject: A young man who looks like he’s either 20 or 21 years old. He sat directly across me with two of his friends. Nothing unusual until this man started to talk on the phone. The topic didn’t interest me. What caught my attention was the fact that he kept spewing vulgarities as he spoke. Hokkien (a form of Chinese dialect that’s prevalent in Singapore) and English vulgar words can be found at the beginning, middle and end of each and every sentence.

“Kloudiia

I made all the mistakes in an unhealthy relationship. I can’t forgve myself for causing the thing to end. I want to show him we can still work out. How can this be done?” - A

Dear A

Going through a break up is a painful process. It can be mentally, emotionally and physically draining. I can sense the kind of regret and remorse you are feeling now. I’m so sorry you are going throuch such a trying period now.

I’ve always believed in loving onself before we can love others and to accept love. If you have been following my posts, then you will know this is the nth time I’ve said this.

But, how great can a love be? How great can loving oneself be to actually heal others by healing yourself? And the way to do it is to love yourself!

This is an awesome article on an awesome man who did just that! Quoting the man’s words, this was what he said in the article:

I was simply healing the part of me that created them.

It’s the festive season period. The air is full of joy! So let’s make this a joyous and happy post, shall we?

How to be jovial?

By staying happy, chirpy and cracky! Spread your vibes!

Top 10 Women Turn-Ons #5: Mr Cracker

Woman Turn Ons 5: Mr Cracker

He’s not the handsome type, yet he almost always capture the attention of women, even in a group setting. It’s not that hard to locate his exact location in the room. All you need to do is simply follow this apparently obvious, clear and succint clue …

Laughter.

Karaoke can be considered as one of the most popular form of entertainment and leisure activity in Singapore, Japan, Hong Kong and Taiwan. I’m not too sure about other countries in the region like Malaysia and China so shall not comment here.

The good part of this hobby is it allows people who love singing to have the chance to sing to their hearts content, whether or not their love is translated to a competency is completely out of the context. Also it is one of the most flexible form of activity where you can do it alone (though it’s extremely rare that I see this), as a couple or with a huge bunch of friends.

Top 10 Men Turn-Ons #3: “Women In Black”

Black is the official colour for mystery. Women in black thus refers to women with that veil of mystery, that not-to-show all sense of evasion.

Why does this turn men on? Because men love challenges. Because men like to win. Because men like to pursue.

Of course, not all men are like this, but generally this is what most men are wired. They like to be the one who can see behind that veil and uncover the real woman. They can smell seduction, and they like such a bait!

All the talk about generosity, being open-minded and giving compliments so far, I wonder how many men are putting it into practice and have gotten some feedback on these new strategies? (or secretly swearing under their breath in front of the pc while reading these posts. Shouldn’t be, right? :) )

What’s the #4 factor that turns a woman on, especially during the first date?

Top 10 Women Turn-Ons #4: The Eye

Starting to sound eerie? No this isn’t the ghost movie “The Eye” but we’re talking about the gaze here. The type where a woman can literally feel her heart thumping so fiercely it’s threatening to jump out from her chest and her face flushing so much that she’s cursing herself for wasting the blusher after all.
