1 more day to go for my baptism. Last Sunday, which is known as the Palm Sunday marked the start of the Holy Week – the 7 days leading up to Jesus Christ’s crucification on Good Friday, which is today and he rises from the dead on Easter Sunday.

Every year, there will be a Holy Thursday mass, in which the priest will do a symbolic action – washing of feet. It is a replica of how Jesus washed the feet of his 12 disciples on Thursday night, the eve of the day when his duty on Earth will be fulfilled according to the teaching.

Yes, that was what my friends have been asking. Or rather, some friends.

I was pretty upset with such requests, really. I didn’t understand why. So I had a short conversation with my sister, that went like this:

K: “If they are my friends, why are they asking me to give them my book for free? But it’s not about giving away for free, why am I feeling so upset about it?”

No, I made a spelling error. It should be “Happyness”.

Since when has the word been misspelt? Why would the historians want to change the “y” to an “i”? Doesn’t “Happyness” look happier than “Happiness”?

We can’t spell it in it’s “orginial” form, because it doesn’t conform to the rules.

How many times have we sacrificed the opportunies to pursue happiness because the rules dictate the dos and don’ts? Sounds contradictory, but we all know very well that rules and regulations play a certain role in society, and they serve their purpose.

Here’s the second part of the photos.

How can a book launch go without an autography session? Been practising signing my name for a while, mentally, and physically when I’m on the train, in the cab, in the shower, in bed, on top of a tree… ok I’m just kidding. But I did practised for a liiitttllee while.

See the man holding something in his hand in the third photo from the top? Well, that’s the book light we are selling on behalf of Make-A-Wish foundation, the charity organisation that I am supporting now. Doesn’t it blend so very nicely? A book goes with what else, but a book light!

Naively thought it’ll be a less tensed week once my book launch is over. That didn’t happen, that’s why, it was a naive thought.

Hmm… I was caught thinking about this when I overhead a conversation like this:

M: “Yes, her book is out. I don’t know what’s the title, you know I can’t really speak English. But you can find it at the bookstores”

F: “Which bookstores?”

M: “Those bookstores. Look for the book with the big, big numbers 6 and 9 in front. You can see her face on it. It’s purple colour book ya. That is her book”

Me while listening: “…”

M: “Aiya (Note: This is a local Singaporean slang) why not I ask my daughter to tell you la. Then you won’t be so blur”
