Church of St Mary of the Angels was busy with our celebrations for the annual Feast Day.
Today was the time of the year when many will gather at our basement carpark selling food. All the stall vendors did their best to outwit the other stalls and get patrons to buy their food. Though competition was really keen, but all in the name of good fun and fund-raising for the church.
I was attending mass this morning when all of a sudden, the sky started pouring.
“Oh my, shouldn’t God bless our church with a good weather on an important and happy occasion like today?”

Â
Weekend TODAY wrote about a very touching real-life account of a woman who received a kidney from her own younger brother.
It wasn’t the typical type of story where tears and sadness cover the entire page. Rather, I was moved by the kind of relationship this pair of siblings share. And I can relate to that very well.
As the writer gave much credit and thanks to her brother, she had to battle the inner fear and big struggle the minute she heard the news of the donation.

Certian things grow naturally.
You grow taller from the day you were born until a stage when your height is stabilised.
Your knowledge increases as you celebrate one more birthday.Â
By right, you should get wealthier due to the number of years you have worked and amassed your savings. By right, you also should be better in most aspects of your life, learnt more things, made more new friends while developing deeper friendships and relationships with existing ones.
Is this happening to you? If it is, then we should congratulate ourselves that we are growing healthily, and evolving naturally in whichever sense.

Let me begin wtih a story:
“There was a girl who was born in a village into a big family. This girl grew up like any other girl, only that she was much happier than anyone. One would have thought she must be rich and happy. Well she is, because “poor” was never in her mind and thoughts.
When she was little, she didn’t know that not having rice to eat during lunch while her other school mates dived into their sumptuous lunch boxes was poor, because her grandmother would feed her with biscuits till she was full.

A famed wedding photographer told me the 3 secret ingredients for a marriage to last.
Those were the 3 words he mouthed: Love. Lust. Passion
I beg to differ.
Â
A marriage may not need all 3 of them to last, but you certainly require them to have a happy, loving and meaningful relationship!
Love is what ensures that you still see your partner with the warm fuzzy feeling even when he/she has become more and more predictable with his/her behaviour and words.

I have been dating my girifriend since last year January. After 4 months she had to go back to America to study and to work. Everything went well until a few days ago I was online chatting with her. She said, she does not want to ger married, no children, doesn’t want to come back for good. I felt very upset and started to cry.
Ladies, which option would you choose?
1. A man who always give you unexpected surprises; or
2. A man who is meeting your needs constantly.
Think carefully before you put your bet. You can only choose one.Â
A friend after reading this post asked me, if my boyfriend were to do exactly the things that I have taught or adviced other guys on me, doesn’t that remove the uncertainty in dating? I didn’t fully understand his question, but later I did. What he meant was, if a guy is doing things his girlfriend can predict, then where’s the mystery left in the courtship?
Â
The rules of courtship are being re-defined! Well, soon I think, according to this poll.
The guys are still the one to do the chasing, as very obviously the girls still love to be flattered and honoured by the men! But, the men aren’t really agreeing with this. How so? Â
That’s what has been shown from the last poll done. Out of 333 votes gathered, 47% of the respondents were ladies and a whopping 41% said they still prefer to be wooed and wowed by the guys!
“Tough?” a male voice hovered over my head.
I was minding my own business on a train ride home last night when this man sitting next to me got interested in what I was reading on my lap.
Well, I was revising my sign language after Lesson 4. Can’t blame him, can we?
“Interesting” I replied. This is followed by a non-stop conversation fringing on sign language.  I got to know that he has a client who is also a deaf-mute and they have been conversing through paper and pen.

“No, no, nooooo!” I screamed frantically inside my head.
And then he pressed. The other he pressed too.
“Sheesh. Argh!” I thought.
I was in a mad rush for time on that particular day. Dashing into the lift, I swiftly pressed 25, the floor that I was destined to arrive. Two guys sauntered in, and yes, much to my dread, pressed 2 different levels.
That translated to 2 more minutes of credit to the duration I was late.
But to me, it seemed like 20 minutes! I was already counting seconds while on the MRT, and wondering why has time slowed to such a crawl?
