Foie gras? Or caviar? How about kobe beef?
After a long, long delay, my humble abode finally got her blessing from our priest few nights back, finally. Sitting next to my little veranda with my main door open, I can feel the tranquility surrounding me. You may not know, but my living room looks out to a patch of green as my place faces a park. Hence when I look up from my notebook, I can set my sights across the horizon where the pale blue sky meets the lush green trees. Hmm… how perfect if there could be a slight breeze running through now, I thought.

There is a common denominator in all humans – the supreme and avid ability to blame. We blame everything that we can blame. We blame people for not understanding us. We blame our neighbour’s dog for causing our kids to have insomnia. We blame our neighbour’s squeaky children for disrupting our afternoon nap.
I know, many of you may blame me for making such a sweeping statement. Ok, I concede that it’s only the minority who will not blame but rather take responsibility for their own actions and behaviours.

She has rubbed shoulders, ”wined” and dined and with multi-nationals on her birthday party!
My godmother’s granddaughter, Mila turned one recently, and they threw a happy and joyous party for her yesterday to celebrate her first 365 days on earth.
I was delighted to be one of the invited, and when my sister and I stepped into the function room at HomeTeam@NS at the Balestier clubhouse, we were pleasantly surprised. Filled with abundance of laughter and the fragrant aroma of food, we saw a mixture of colours.
Colours that came from the balloons, sea-themed decoration and birthday cake, a pool of balls and a multitude of toys and finally, the guests.

The door opened and in she went. Following close by was me. Before I could say “Six, please thank you” the service has been rendered. I stepped behind and waited as we were lifted up from the ground to our respective destination.
I observed her on the sly. First, her ear – no ear phones plugged in. Second, her hands – one was occupied with some plastic bags holding her groceries and the other was free. Finally, her face. Gosh, she must be feeling pretty bad today I reckoned.

I was really looking forward to it. It would be the first for hubby and me to engage in this together. We were going for a spa treatment at The Aramsa Spas at Bishan Park II. A nature lover, I was attracted to their location. What a lovely idea to be pampered in the midst of lush environment. Hmm… A magazine interview with ex-MediaCorp artiste Jazreel Low who was managing the outlet gave me the added boost in confidence.
Off we went yesterday for the couple spa treatment. It’s about time that we need to relax and unwind, I thought.

Wow, finally, a place for all matchmakers and matchmakers wannabe to call home in Singapore! The launch of Matchmaking Institute (MMI) SEA yesterday marked another milestone that our dating and matchmaking industry has grown over the last few years.
As one of the Alumni, I can’t help but recall those early days when only a small handful of us were working very hard to advocate the “trendiness” and fun of engaging a dating agency to meet potential mates, as we slowly peeled off layer after layer of stigma stuck to the idea of matchmaking. That was in 2004 when Two To Tango opened her doors to successful and busy singles looking for love.Â
This movie review of Definitely, Maybe is written for NS Portal.
If there are only three chances in life to make love happen, I’m pretty sure Will Hayes (Ryan Reynolds) would have thought he had blown all his off when he got the letter of divorce from his wife and mother of his only 10 year old daughter Maya (Abigail Breslin).

My niece came visiting last week. This was the first time I’ve seen her since she was born 14 months ago. She really is a bundle of joy! She isn’t stingy with her smiles and chuckles, and she certainly has no qualms about running for comfort in a bid to seek attention.
None of us blame her for doing that. In fact, we relish in her company as she monkeys around in the house.
