I fell in love with it at first sight. I knew this love has been with me all along, never for once diminished or gone.

Not even living in the city most of the time can take away this deep love, and what a sweet surprise it was that it is now close to me.

I have another love relationship now, besides my marriage.

From my balcony at home, I can see the lush greenery facing me. I love it whenever it rains, because the air will be exceptionally cooling and I can smell a dewy scent coming from those trees that is always refreshing and invigorating.

Yeah, I can only say I kinda like them, since I only know them so much from whatever information that has been made public about them. I don’t know them by person, so I cannot make that bold declaration that I like them.

One thing’s for sure – I like them enough to be attracted to read their news, or to support their works. And I admire them too!

So here’s my list. Ready? 

Using both his hands, he grasped her hands tightly and held it close to his heart. Then with the most sincere, genuine and loving tone, he told her that sometimes what one sees or hears may not be the truth. It is what one feels that speaks volumes.

That was a moving line, I thought. It came from a drama that I just finished watching recently.

How did that line come about? His mother had objected to his relationship with this girl whom he loves very deeply. However due to economical concerns, his mother insisted that he should date and marry another girl who comes from an extremely wealthy family. Therefore, she set her son up and let this girl see something that she shouldn’t.

Everybody was kung-fu fighting (HOOH! HAAH!)
Those cats were fast as lightning (HOOH! HAAH!)
In fact it was a little bit frightning (HOOH! HAAH!)
But they fought with expert timing (HOOH! HAAH!)
Wo oh oh oh…..

Yeah, this was the song that was in the background for the Kung Fu Panda trailer. It instantly put me in the feet-tapping, head-nodding mode as I laughed and huffed, with popcorn in my mouth. That was a month ago I guess.

One month later, I was in the cinema, again with popcorn in my mouth, watching the fat panda getting into real action – kung fu.

Girl: “Please help us. Please….”

Me: “Erh… why are you doing this?”

Girl: “It’s our holiday job lor… please help us please. We haven’t hit the minimum quota for today yet”

Me: “What will happen if you don’t hit the quota?”

Girl: “We’ll be sacked lor”

Then she gave me the “Please help me” dog-eyed look.

Gosh, God really gave her a gift of sweet looks and a well-mannered disposition. I checked the flavours on the menu…

Things happen for a reason, though we may not know what it is there and then.

I can hardly believe this, but it truly happened to me.

In a matter of seconds, I lost two items – my mobile phone and my EZlink card. Right from the front pocket of my bag.

I was at Toa Payoh this evening and as my appointment was pushed backwards by 30 minutes, I decided to while the time away shopping around. There I was with my sister, chatting away and browsing the clothes on offer at the piazza in front of Burger King. Nothing out of the blue happened, until I decided to check on my phone for the time and to see if the person I was supposed to meet send me any text messages.

Have you seen the series of television ads recently launched by M1? How do you find them?

To be frank, I am pretty amused and entertained by them. In fact, I’m looking forward to the next different one each time. This series has a balanced mix of constants and variables.

Like the client will always like the idea proposed, and when he does, those 3 guys will do that hilarious head jutting action in sync with the background M1 music. These are the constants.

I was in church last Friday to celebrate the Solemn Profession of three brothers who would officially be welcomed into the brotherhood. 3 Friars were born that night.

It was truly a touching night as hundreds of people gathered in church to witness this moment, to rejoice with the three and to give them our blessings and well wishes.

The joyous mood was extended when all of us broke out with lightness in our footsteps and smiles on our faces as we collected the blessed bread and proceeded to the Piazza for some sumptous food awaiting. The festive ambience was high as the church also celebrated its 50th anniversary of the Franciscan Order, and everyone was busy congratulating Friars William, Justin and Derrick.

Please off your mobile phone – the trailer will tell you. But, you can still munch your pop corns and nachos. Just don’t do it too noisily. Thank you.

Have you noticed that many variations of “shutting off mobile” trailers that are showing up on cinema screens since the past year? Because there is no other message than to ask movie goers to off their mobile or at least turn it to silent mode so that everyone one, including you, will be enjoying the movie without noise, trailers have to get more and more creative with their concepts.
