Why is this a significant period for me?
Because I returned back to time! No time machine needed, no complex and confusing formula, no physics about it. All I need is to lose something – this little gadget that has seen the evolution and advancement of technology at a rate that can probably match the speed of light.
So naturally, without this gadget, time stands still. As for me, I went back to the historic days. What exactly is this little thing that has such big powers?
My friends, it’s called a mobile phone, or handphone.

Fa Fa Fa! That would be what this day 8 August 2008 would sound like in Mandarin.
That’s right, the number 8 has always been, and I believe will continue to be an auspicious digit in the Chinese culture. It spells luck and fortune. How true it is is not known, as I’ve yet to come across any proof of the magic this digit has brought to those who believe in it and actually act by it. One thing is for sure – it has this high status because of the way it sounds that rhymes with the chinese word “prosper”. So there you go – that much for the lucky power.

Hubby and I were watching TV together harmoniously one evening.
A trailer promoting an upcoming Korean drama was being shown. The plot goes like this:
A rich young girl has a unique proposal. If she’s willing to stay and tend to a vineyard for a year, the owner will give her a 1m ha of the vineyard to her.
So I asked hubby :”Will you say yes if you were given this offer?”
He replied: “Hmm, should be Ok la.”
I said: “Ya, it’s only for one year and you get such a big vineyard for free!”

I got stopped for speeding yesterday.
I thought I could talk, smile, flirt, wriggle my way out of it,
until the cop looked at my dog in the back seat …
and smiled …

The world’s oldest blogger has just passed away. Olive Riley, fondly known as Ollie, breathed her last on July 12 2008 at a ripe age of 108. Gosh, she has lived for more than a century!
I bet she grew up writing letters using feather pens with ink, like what we see in Harry Potter, sans the magic.
I didn’t know about this great lady until it was too late when I read about her death in the newspaper. Yet ironically, because she had a blog, it will never be too late will it?

20 minutes before the all-important bell rang for recess, our teacher ended the lesson. Not every one of us had reasons to smile or be happy. But I had. I had every reason to smile and be happy. In fact, I was so looking forward to the next 20 minutes.
Don’t get me wrong. I bore no grudges over the teacher, didn’t hate the topic he/she was teaching. My elation was because the next 20 minutes proved to be more enticing than the previous 40 minutes.
It was reading time! Yay!
