David Duchovny, star of X-Files, checked himself into a rehab centre to get rid of his sex addiction. To me, this shows that the problem is no longer a problem. It has turned into a challenge. You see, it is of my belief that if a person realises where the problem lies and is taking action to work on it, then it is viewed as a challenge. Because we know that when one tackles a challenge, he/she is sure to see results. Usually something that is positive-oriented.

My wallet is getting heavier again. I don’t have thick wads of cash stuffed inside, so don’t you think about stalking me!

The culprits are the shiny gold coins. These $1 coins are puttng on extra grams on my shoulder, since I carry my wallet in my bag that rests on it. They are indeed weighty, in all sense. Literally, and non-literally.

I know some people have this habit. They will refrain from spending their $1 coins so that they can put it into their piggy bank. Did you hear wrongly? No, it’s a piggybank, that’s right – the little animal that taught us the value of saving when we were kids. (Not sure about your generation, but during my time they were all over, and moms taught us that they are our best friends!)

Keep Our Languages Alive, Singapore

“Wow, you are from Singapore? Singaporeans are very talented! You all can speak so many languages, unlike us,” the contractor said in earnest.

“Ok la, don’t say this. We are so-so only,” I replied humbly.

“Is it? No wor, I know few Singaporeans and they all can speak at least 3 languages ar! English, Mandarin and Hokkien. See, you can speak 4!” He continued to sing our praises. The fourth language he was referring to is Cantonese.

The Power of Opposites

Opposites attract! I think they do, not for the purpose of coming together, but for the purpose of eliminating one another.

They pit against each other. The strong competition vibes fill the ambience, and now it’s a battle of the extremes. Is it white, or black who will win?

White won. Though it was perceived as a weaker colour because it was fairer.

Bearing out these two colours were two wonderful girls in the singing competition One Million Stars 2. Annie, the white, ranked #5 in the finals was up against Alisa, the black, a strong opponent who gave the contestants a rude shock on her first appearance.

Catch Me If You Can, On CNA

Dear friends and readers

I’ll be appearing on a segment in the programme Singapore Business Tonight on Channel News Asia at 10:20pm. If you are still curious about what love coaching is all about, and how one can benefit from such a program, do tune in and catch me if you can.

See ya there then!

Then come back here and drop me some smoochies if you have anything to tell me after that show. ok?

It’s A Mental Game To Win

I had this conversation with Stuart days ago, and today, I read that Antony Lee, the manager of our Singapore table tennis team had been given the red card. His fault? For not doing his job properly of allocating a coach to Gao Ning when he was playing against Croatia.

Gao Ning, Singapore’s top male paddler lost very badly. He was in tears after the match was over. One can easily empathise with him and understand why he was in such distress.

Though I have never watched him play, but there must be a reason why he is the top male player here. And the fact that he lost such a crushing defeat is telling.

Must iPhone Be So Elusive?

I was elated when I knew the ’reds’ got the exclusive right to sell iPhone in Singapore. Naturally, because I belong to this camp, for now.

Then another piece of good news swept in – that Apple had reduced the price drastically in the US. Whoa, I had more to look forward to, and so I delayed buying a phone just to wait and see what the ‘reds’ plan to do.

Then there were the speculated dates going around. It was supposed to be 2nd quarter, then 3rd, then last. Then July. Then end of year. Finally, the auspicious date was set – 22 Aug. I made my reservation before this ‘privilege’ expired.

4 Lessons I Learnt From A Reader

I decided to do this. Because like I mentioned in my earlier post, there are some good lessons we can learn here that we can apply to our relationships.

This was what I got from a reader, after I blogged about Tao Li and Michael Phelps. In short, after I wrote about 2 posts on the Beijing Olympics 2008.

Are you writing about olympics to get more hits on Google? What has olympics got to do with the Love website you are writing?

It’s amazing how people make money on the internet whether they are an expert in the subject or not.

Congratulations Singapore!

They were smiling, as the ambience in the stadium was gearing up with much festive mood in the air. Yes, they were much more relaxed now than when they were fighting it out with South Korea just two days ago. Li Jiawei and Wang Yuegu were loosening up, with smiles on their faces as they finished off the competition in the last match.

What a strong heart one needs. It was an extremely intense, nerve-racking, heart thumping and very, very, very, very close match to watch.

Our Singapore table tennis team beat the Korean team in the semi-final just minutes ago to pave our way for the first medal ever in Olympics!

Yes, we are in the run for either a gold or silver medal, if I didn’t hear it wrongly from the commentator. If I did, forgive me for I am but an extremely new Olympic fan who is cheering out for her home team.
