The sky was downloading millions of water droplets onto Mother Earth earlier on when I went for lunch. Looking on at the people scurrying around under their umbrellas, I was hit by some bits of nostalgia.
There were adults going for lunch, mothers sending their children to school and school children on their way to classes.
I noticed one thing in common – all of them carried umbrellas. None of them was in a raincoat.
Unknowingly and without any prior rehearsal, both of us clasped our palms and placed them below our chin as we chatted with the guy sitting across the table. It would have been brushed off as nothing unusual, except that I suddenly had this discovery – we were in rapport!
Stuart and I were in an exact same position. Though for only one minute, it said something about us. And this something, is in my opinion, what every single is looking for in a date – chemistry.

Let’s face it. We’re getting more and more vocal in Singapore through whatever means and channels that we’re allowed to air our views and opinions on anything and everything that we can comment on.
This should be something that calls for a celebration. After all, it wasn’t too long ago that in order for us to speak our minds, we need lots of assurance (that we won’t be sued!) and probably a bottle of Vodka to muster enough courage and to have that bit of audacity.
But hey, wait a minute! I say “should be” and not “this is” something worth celebrating. Now, why so?

Stuart can be really irritating at times. No, I need a little correction – most times. And to top if off, he takes pride in being able to irritate me.
Want proof? Here’s a conversation that took place two weeks ago.
Stuart did an irritating act and made some irritating noises as we were walking to the main road.
K: Shut up!
S: I need to have more laughter in my life.
K: And I need to have less irritation in my life.
Stuart repeated his act again.
K: And the main source of irritation comes from you!

“My heart is beating very fast now!” I exclaimed to the guy sitting behind me, as I put my hand over my chest to indicate how nervous I was.
“Don’t worry, it’s time to change,” he reassured me.
Then, with the gadget he held on his right hand, he started to work on it. “It” being my long curly tresses which I had been keeping at approximately that length for the past 9 years. Yes, I was finally going to have a change! A big one, to me, but not to the girl sitting next to me – my sister.

We can be very anal about certain things or people in our lives. Friends give us their opinions, parents tried to stamp their feet down and use their authority to sway our views, but still, we stood our ground. We refuse to change our minds.
Until one day, that thin wire in our heads snapped. We see the light.
It only takes one such moment – the paradigm shift. Similarly, it only takes one person or one event to make all the difference.
I remember how my sister stirred my interest in reading out loud. I soon overtook her in English oral results.

I just came back from a 4D3N trip to Bali. Stuart and I stayed at this villa called the Uma Sapna.
Prior to departing for this place, I was so excited for days. They say one shouldn’t get too excited, or something disappointing may happen. Guess my zeal and enthusiasm raised my temperature quite a bit and gave me a sore throat on the 2nd day of the trip.
