How can your bands get tarnished when all you’ve done is to keep it in the ring box? Unless you can’t wait to show them already by wearing them everyday?

I’m getting married on the 1st of December, but I bought the wedding bands about 6 months ago and did my level best to keep them from damaging – yet they are tarnished already! Man… wish metal kept a little better in Singapore.

Precious – Yeah I’ve met people who have outgrown their wedding bands. So don’t know if they are unwilling to take it out, or already lost the ability to do so lolz.. whichever is the case, the fact that when you take out the band and there’s a slight different tone in the colour of your skin is another mark of your long-lasting marriage! Whoa

Sarah – It can be troublesome, but don’t you find it’ll be worth the effort when your diamond shines brilliantly again? Don’t be lazy haha…. just take the effort to bring it down for the polishing. Hey, it’s free! So what are you waiting for?

Ed – yeah, I like what you said that the sacred circle remains unbroken. To me, it’s the real meaning of a marriage itself and those scratches prove that the marriage is still alive!

I guess you’re right. Her over-protectiveness may be reflective of her attitude towards her marriage. Aiyah it’s only a ring. Most importantly is the relationship between two people.

When i was still with my ex-wife, the best thing to do is to keep the ring on. It really helps with warding off unnecessary attention… or rather “attraction”. See the ring on my finger and the message is crisp clear.

Sometimes, I liken these scratches to all the rough patches in our relationship and marriage but those who survived all these – that sacred circle remains unbroken. Don’t you think so?

Hey Kloudiia, thanks for the post. I’m also intrigued why others would remove their wedding ring. I’m not yet married, but my sweetheart and i wear matching rings on our third finger. I’ll never want to take it off.

Actually, I once met this lady who have outgrown her wedding ring. The ring is sooo tight around her finger, I was impressed that she didn’t remove it and chuck it aside.

May be it’s up to her husband to replace it with a bigger one.

My wedding band is badly scratched, but I don’t really care because it is meant to be worn. I do not even remove it when I am washing clothes. However, with my diamond ring, I had decided to remove it and only wear it on special occasions because it lost its shine with repeated wear, and I was very upset when a salesgirl thought it was F or G when it had a much better clarity. It’s troublesome to get it polished unless you frequent jewellery stores.
