We know that leaders are proactive. They make things happen by creating something out of nothing. How do that do that? One of the way is by asking. They dare to ask for what they want, rather than sitting there hoping, praying and wishing that someone will just bring their prize to them.
Did I just get to know about this truth? No, in fact I knew it long ago. Did I practice? Yes I did, and I’m glad to say it has brought me so much more than I ever would have gotten had I just sat there and wait.
However, in the last POE, I forgotten. This simple principle slipped my mind. What did I lose out? Possibly some very precious thoughts and feedback I could have gotten if only I asked.
Ok, I have a mini confession. I have a fetish. I love receiving notes, letters, emails, cards whatever. As much as I love writing, I love reading too!
I was only brought to my realisation after a casual chit-chat with a fellow coach. The best part of it is the irony that this is one of the secrets in my upcoming book on how to develop a loving and lasting relationship! How could I have overlooked that!
Nevertheless, the fact that I knew this all along means it just took me 1 second to get it into my head about what I could have done better. Yet, how many of you are still living your life waiting and hoping for something good to drop at your doorstep?
How many of you share your needs with your partner? Have you been honest with your own feelings? When was the last time when you frankly admitted your desire to your partner? Is making your loved one feel loved and appreciated a priority in your life?
