The world’s oldest blogger has just passed away. Olive Riley, fondly known as Ollie, breathed her last on July 12 2008 at a ripe age of 108. Gosh, she has lived for more than a century!

I bet she grew up writing letters using feather pens with ink, like what we see in Harry Potter, sans the magic.

I didn’t know about this great lady until it was too late when I read about her death in the newspaper. Yet ironically, because she had a blog, it will never be too late will it?

Girl: “Please help us. Please….”

Me: “Erh… why are you doing this?”

Girl: “It’s our holiday job lor… please help us please. We haven’t hit the minimum quota for today yet”

Me: “What will happen if you don’t hit the quota?”

Girl: “We’ll be sacked lor”

Then she gave me the “Please help me” dog-eyed look.

Gosh, God really gave her a gift of sweet looks and a well-mannered disposition. I checked the flavours on the menu…

Things happen for a reason, though we may not know what it is there and then.

I was in church last Friday to celebrate the Solemn Profession of three brothers who would officially be welcomed into the brotherhood. 3 Friars were born that night.

It was truly a touching night as hundreds of people gathered in church to witness this moment, to rejoice with the three and to give them our blessings and well wishes.

The joyous mood was extended when all of us broke out with lightness in our footsteps and smiles on our faces as we collected the blessed bread and proceeded to the Piazza for some sumptous food awaiting. The festive ambience was high as the church also celebrated its 50th anniversary of the Franciscan Order, and everyone was busy congratulating Friars William, Justin and Derrick.

My pants says it all.

It has weathered serveral ups and downs, and through the years, it is still hanging there, serving me faithfully.

There were times when it felt loose even when all buttoned up; times when it felt just right and times when I could button up the bottom two and leave the top two dangling.

Yes, my pants will tell me if I’ve been putting on weight, lost some kilos or I have been maintaining well.

Saying hi from Jakarta…

May your day be filled with lots of happiness, joy, laughter and love.

It’s been great so far coaching the first POE in Jakarta. The people here - fellow coaches, participants and the entire operations team are such a wonderful bunch to work with and collaborate. They are so warm, friendly and humble that I felt at home with them immediately.

I know, this will be an exhilarating experience for me to remember for a very long, long time to come.

Have you got any breakthroughs these few days too?
