Many times, couples quarrel over the most trivial matter. And when they look back at it, they chide themselves for allowing the situation to get out of hand. Stuart and I do have our heaty moments too, but we realise that more often than not, with some bits of humour and a change of perspective, things could be completely different.

Stuart was eating some grapes last night when he asked: ‘How do you describe the sensation of eating grapes?’

‘It’s like spring – the sweetness of it in your mouth, and the crunchiness like the crisp air.’

He popped a few more grapes into his mouth.

‘A bursting of juice all over in your mouth.’ I closed my eyes and sucked my lips together, as if I were the one eating them now.

‘It’s like an explosion of happiness.’

‘Why?’

‘The sweetness of the juice is flowing everywhere in your mouth, and it tastes so good. So that’s happiness.’

Me: ‘Yesterday I saw A’s husband, and he commented that I have put on weight! So sad!!!!’

Stuart: ‘Is he still alive?’

Stuart sighed as I stepped into the room last night.

K: “Why?”

S: “Facebook is down. I can’t log in.”

K: “Oh is it?” turning my head to check it out on his laptop and saw the “error loading” page.

“Oh ya… ha ha ha!”

S: “Hai…” shaking his head.

K: “So …  are you going into depression now?”

S: — — —

This happened in our bedroom, about two weeks ago as Stuart and I were busy packing up cos we’re shifting house.

Feeling stressed up, I was looking to get some “excitement” by finding some things to start a “quarrel”.

K: Whose idea is it to sell the flat!!!???

S (stopped what he was doing, looked up and said) : You.

Me fuming a bit …

K: But you have to agree right? Why did you agree?

S: Because I love you!
