Inspired by some of these rare occurrences that I see happening, I penned this post on my love coaching blog.

Get your eyes prepared to indulge in a feast of sinfully extravagance, splendour and glamour. Four ladies sizzle on screen with to-die-for dresses, killer stiletto heels, bigger than big accessories and oh-my-goodness gorgeous wedding gowns are what you can get from the movie Sex and the City.
Besides Carrie Bradshow’s (Sarah Jessic Parker) wedding, Charlotte York’s (Kristin Davis) magical pregnancy, Miranda Hobbes’ (Cynthia Nixon) departure from marriage and Samantha Jones’ (Kim Cattrall) struggle to stay in her relationship without cheating, this movie attempts to dive into something deeper in everybody’s lives than just the two things that girls flock to New York for - labels and love, as what Carrie’s voice-over right in the beginning of the movie says.
Some find them sissy. Some find them sensitive.
Some do it without hesitation. Some will only do it for their girlfriends or wives.
This issue seems to be only debatable in Singapore, although scenes of men carrying their partners’ handbags can be seen widely in other Asia countries like Hong Kong, Taiwan and even China. So what is the concern here, really?
I am writing this post to air my opinion as I read the article on The Straits Times on 24 February 2008 - “Do Singapore Women Expect Too Much?” about the latest survey of 200 singles conducted by SDU that revealed that women expect men to carry handbags and open car doors for them. It seems like these two wants are heinous crimes.
That’s what the 44 guys and gals who took part in my poll said! 48% of guys who polled indicated their interests to continue celebrating this day with their loved ones while 32% of gals said yes too.
I know, 44 is really too small a population for us to make any conclusion on our island’s wish on 14 February. But still it is some form of signal that indicates some voices of the public, or at least those of my blog readers.
There you go ladies. You’ll still get your bouquet next year..

We had our romantic dinner too! Well, rather than using romantic to describe our dinner last night, I thought cosy was a better word to use. But I did have a number of surprises though.
Stuart searched on the internet and found this place called Stone Grill at East Coast Road. Ok, he scored some points by making the effort to do some research!
Wooh, it’s Valentine’s Day again! Special occasions are like bookmarks, where they will act as reminders for us how time flies and what we did, or didn’t do last year.
Having survived V Day (with and without partners), I hope I’m able to complete this list of 13 gifts that I have received till this day.

1. Flowers. The reason why I didn’t put down “Roses” instead is because I received more variety than just the different colours of roses. Now that I write this, I kinda miss the feeling of getting an unexpected surprise when the delivery man comes knocking at your desk and present a bouquet to you. Aww… (but I’d rather not get these hyped up pricey petals now…)
