Fa Fa Fa! That would be what this day 8 August 2008 would sound like in Mandarin.

That’s right, the number 8 has always been, and I believe will continue to be an auspicious digit in the Chinese culture. It spells luck and fortune. How true it is is not known, as I’ve yet to come across any proof of the magic this digit has brought to those who believe in it and actually act by it. One thing is for sure - it has this high status because of the way it sounds that rhymes with the chinese word “prosper”. So there you go - that much for the lucky power.

To be frank, I am pretty amused and entertained by them. In fact, I’m looking forward to the next different one each time. This series has a balanced mix of constants and variables.

Like the client will always like the idea proposed, and when he does, those 3 guys will do that hilarious head jutting action in sync with the background M1 music. These are the constants.

Because there is no other message than to ask movie goers to off their mobile or at least turn it to silent mode so that everyone one, including you, will be enjoying the movie without noise, trailers have to get more and more creative with their concepts.

Wow, finally, a place for all matchmakers and matchmakers wannabe to call home in Singapore! The launch of Matchmaking Institute (MMI) SEA yesterday marked another milestone that our dating and matchmaking industry has grown over the last few years.

As one of the Alumni, I can’t help but recall those early days when only a small handful of us were working very hard to advocate the “trendiness” and fun of engaging a dating agency to meet potential mates, as we slowly peeled off layer after layer of stigma stuck to the idea of matchmaking. That was in 2004 when Two To Tango opened her doors to successful and busy singles looking for love.

Which one of them is more scary? Which one of them is more prone to accidents?

While taxi drivers earned a reputation by changing lanes instantaneously when a hand is raised up by a customer on the pavement, young drivers got famous through a string of high profile accidents that I read in newspapers.

I don’t hold the national statistics of traffic accidents involving the youths and taxis, but I’d like to voice out some observations I made while being on the road myself.
