    Beautiful Love

I’m a very visual person, and my heart will go into a happy dance whenever I come across anything pretty. My eyes do a big morning stretch and my lips part to welcome the aesthetic molecules into my body. I would have done a “Happy Feet” right there and then if I were alone. So, this passion for beauty is so deep and huge that unconsciously, it has also set me up against myself.

You see, the pursuit of something you are crazy about is never ending. For me, it is beauty. Not just physical beauty of a person, but anything that looks pretty and eye-catching. Arts, nature, words, shapes, sounds, love.

    Holding Hands

Can a couple who has been married for thirty-five years forget how to hold hands? If you’re married, are you and your spouse still holding hands? Or have you also forgotten how to?

Newly married couples don’t need reminding to be physically close. They are like excited puppies that can’t keep their paws off each other. When kids come along, these couples put on their almighty parents suits all day long. This suit comes with all the functions to be the great mummy and daddy–waterproof, many pockets, thick and airy–but loses its appeal when it comes to being the loving spouse. Alas, when parents start donning it, they forget to take it off, even when they go to bed.

    Wind Beneath My Wings

    Wind Beneath My Wings

    Image: djcodrin / FreeDigitalPhotos.net

It’s always been my dream to write. As much—or as little—as you’ve probably read my articles or my book, there’s still a very long way for me to go in terms of fiction and creative writing. So coming to Iowa for five weeks where I write, write, and write! is indeed a leap towards achieving my dream. I have to thank Stuart for this. Of course, my parents and sister are holding the banner up for me too, but since we’re talking about marriages here, I’ll just focus on being mushy.

    Taking Responsibility

When I was first read this news S’porean Cheated by ex-lover on The Straits Times two days ago, I felt sad for the woman who had lost her relationship and her money. When I reached the part where she commented on how she felt about this case, I felt sadder. This, was what she said (taken from The Straits Times):

I don’t trust men anymore. I trust money more now.

I’m sure she said more than this liner during the press conference. But, based on this alone, it isn’t hard to know how deeply hurt she was from this relationship. Yet, based on what she said, I’m very concerned.

    A Costly Relationship

Talk about an identity crisis. What would you do if your partner wants you to behave like someone else? Someone whom he has the hots for, albeit of a pure idiolising nature.

Would you dress like this person? Probably, if it means you attract your partner’s attention. How about changing your behaviour too? Maybe you need to speak softer (double up with a specific accent!), be more flirtatious, smile seductively and walk like that person?

I think if changing yourself makes you a better person, why not? But if it destroys you as a person, then why do it?

    SDU Networking Nite

    It was truly amazing.

These guys have so much energy and the level of participation was so high that I enjoyed myself thoroughly, even though I was the speaker. I wished I could be sitting with them in the audience to feel the high atmosphere too.

I was referring to the event I attended last night. Held on a monthly basis, it was four hours of good food, fun games and excellent networking for singles and most importantly, great company. Though it was organised by SDU, all of the participants weren’t members.

    When It’s A Couple Thing…

I was doing my last minute shopping for Christmas last night. Hanging on till the doors close (Robinsons is the best! They actually extended the shopping hours till midnight! Yeah), we finally cleared most of the list except for two.

So, I have to do a wee bit more last-last minute shopping later.

First time shopping with Stuart, this Christmas’ experience gave me an entirely different feeling from the usual years when I would scour around with my sister. Buying gifts as a couple and giving them away as a couple, hmm … I guess this counts as one of the better parts of a marriage.

    Sing A Song & Meet A Date

I know there are zillions of people out there who love singing. I’m one of them :) So, when my friend had this event coming on this Sunday, I just thought it would be appropriate to let you guys know about it.

Because, it’s not an ordinary karaoke session. You really won’t know what you are going to walk home with… *wink*

Make yourself free this Sunday night - Check this out.

    E-Cards And Romance

    Giraffes in love

What used to be the rage now has ebbed. Do you remember sending and receiving e-cards a few years ago? When festive seasons were nearing, I would get all sorts of greetings from friends and even business associates.

I haven’t been getting them nowadays, and have thrown them to the back of my head. Until one came through my mailbox from a friend.

Whoa, my first Christmas greeting! How nice… :) Thanks Elaine!

As the genre for e-cards increase, it gives us more room to play around. Now you not only personalise your card with names and your special messages, you can even customise the design by changing the background, font colours and size, among other features.
