Dating Spots Review: Bollywood Veggies Are Nice!

I’m still reeling from the heat.

Didn’t know about this part of the island, I was in for a pleasant surprise with so much greenery along Lim Chu Kang Road on my way to Kranji countryside.

Reommended by an overseas friend (from India! Thanks Siva), I came to Bollywood Veggies with my family for a natural lunch. Yes, food is organic – the closest we can get to calling it natural. Oh my, organic vegetables are just so sweet and fresh! Yummy :)

Organic Veggies!

The bistro, Poison Ivy (one has to suspect the name’s origin came from the founder Ivy Singh Lim) seems like the perfect idea as Sundays are meant to be idlylic and relaxing. I’m not sure about you, but Sundays always give me a lazy feeling.

All the dishes come in small potions, which is good as that means we can order more variety to sample. Verdict is – every single dish that was recommended by the waitress there (a very friendly lady btw) got a thumbs up from all of us at the table.

I like this the most – the otah omelete dish. The otah was specially made and it really tasted, special! Nothing like the ones you buy at coffeeshops or pasar malam stores (Note: pasar malam are temporary road-side stalls in residential neighbourhoods where they usually stay up to a week selling food, amongst other stuff like clothings and daily necessities)

Madly shooting as many photos as I could (all for your viewing pleasure I hope) these are the shots I captured.

Want to know the operating hours? I won’t tell you, but I’ll show you instead. Ta Dah!

Sneakily, I got a shot with the owner in it!

Want to have a tour in the farm and get up close and personal with red pulp tomatoes, big bananas and leafy vegetables? All you need is $2 and yes, you may pass through this gate for a rendezvous with nature!

Organic fruits and vegetables really taste different. You’d want to grab some home too. (Hey, it’s actually a bonus for people like me who can’t really cook. Because the veggies are already so sweet and fresh, not much seasoning is required)

Besides the farm, there’s this little “pasture” worth venturing too. It’s free haha. Look what I’ve got here

This pond isn’t the most beautiful ones we’ve got in Singapore btw. But it just somehow rekindled some nostalgic feelings in me that reminded me of the good ole childhood days when we play around ponds like this – murky and greenish.

Getting tensed up? Maybe squatting at this Ylang Ylang plant can get you relaxed. Hey, why go for the concentrate when you can get the real stuff here? :)

So there you go! Wooh, is this my first post with the most number of photos! My first record-breaking post then I must say :D

Although you see streams of families flowing in and out, this could be a very nice place for couples to have a date! Something different, another escapade from the city. If the weather is cooling that day, or you’re not afraid of the heat, choose the alfresco seating at the bistro so you are one more step nearer to nature as you dine.

It’s time to explore other sides of Singapore, my dear friends. To all my overseas readers, there is nature (and a countryside!) in Singapore, after all! ;)
