There must be something good in knowing nuts about a movie before watching it. I did this with “The Prestige” and again I just budged into the cinema knowing I’ll be squealing in delight watching cute penguins on the big silver screen with popcorns in my hands. Yay! :D

The show begins with how the Emperor penguins find their love partners and multiply, like “March of the Penguins – The Emperor’s Journey” documented.

Happy Feet MumbleWhat I didn’t know was the big story behind this penguin who looked different. The only penguin who can’t sing a tune wthout threatening to bring down the icebergs has one born talent which no other has – he has a pair of happy feet! He can tap dance! His name is Mumble.

I was tickled with joy at those hilarious actions and lines by the penguins (especially the Adelie penguins with Argentinean accents). I was cowering in fear for Mumble when he just barely escaped from being eaten alive. I was awed when he took the plunge (pun intended) to do something seeming impossible and nobody ever dream of doing. I was touched by his courage and determination – all because of this great thing on Earth that even penguins knew and embraced – Love.

Mumble chose to see his difference as a talent rather than a handicap. He stayed true to hmself and never wavered because of his belief and the strong love he had for his mom, dad, Gloria (his sweetheart) and the community who chastised him and chased him out.

He went on to make a difference to the world of Emperor penguins. He saved the entire clan from starvation.

It actually just takes one soul with such inner strength and that tremendous love to make a difference to the world. All you need is to be true to yourself, isn’t it? Yet you know as well as I do that it is getting harder to do this.

The my question is – Why?

A must-see movie! If not for the meaningful plot, then for all those comical moments and jocular bantering. Go for those mesmerising songs and captivating dance moves too :) This show has more depth than I expected from a cartoon.

P.S I took the photo of the poster way before the the show was screened, without an inkling that I would actually watch it. Hmm, looks like I have a ”Vision” ya? :)

    Very interesting review! Well done!

I have been waiting for this movie to come out ever since seeing the trailer almost a year ago. When I first saw those funky tap-dancing penguins I thought they were beyond cute! Penguins are my most favorite animal (after cats). But now that the movie is finally out I find that I don’t have the time to go to the theaters! Argh!

I love penguins too! They’re just so lovable, especially when their fur is dried, so fluffy haha :D

You have to find time to catch this show. It really is worth it, and it’s a good 2-hour movie! Yippie :D

Oh thanks Veron. This is your first smoochie! Hope to see you more often
