Hurricane Larry

It’s an “eventful” Tuesday.

Had to rush to the hospital in the wee hours of the morning before dawn. Luckily, it wasn’t too serious, and the person was able to be discharged in the late afternoon.

Same morning, my mum told me another relative went for another operation due to an infection of a wound from a previous surgery. Luckily too, last checked on her, she seems to be doing fine now.

When I got back, read the papers and learnt of this Hurricane Larry that tore Brisbane, Australia, destroyed countless homes, wreaked havoc on the plantations, with a high possibility of killing parts of Australian’s Great Barrier Reef, treasured as the world’s largest living organism. Most fortunately, no fatalities have been reported, as last checked on ChannelNewsAsia site before this post.

As dusk approached while I’m typing away now, I became aware, once again, that life is full of unpredictables. Nature has its way of giving us unexpected furore, as with health. No doubt it’s beyond human’s control on the mega force of nature, we could nevertheless install prevention measures with the advanced deployment of science and technological interventions.

With health, what better way to prevent illnesses than to make a conscientious and diligent endeavour in living a wholesome lifestyle, meaning, healthy diet, regular exercise, and yes, difficult as it sounds yet we know it’s ever-so-critical, to keep your stress level in check. Stress is potentially one of the factors most prevalent in the causes of so many sickness in this modern era, and what makes it even more terrifying is the fact that it works its way silently into your lifestyle and eventually your body system without most of us realising that it has hit the danger level, until alarm bells ring frantically through apparent symptoms that appeared in its various manners, then we get a rude wake-up call to pay attention to the most important part of our wholeself – our body.

As i absorbed today’s events, I can only say that “Health is Wealth” and to “Treasure what we have today, for we never know what we will experience tomorrow”.

Unfortunately lots of people don’t do anything about it until it’s too late. In life it’s often the things which are free (like our health) are the most invaluable

[...] Kloudiia had an interesting post about Health which i really much agree on, that without a proper fitness and health, the whole biological pattern of being in an optimized state just diminishes and prevents you from reaching your potential. It’s quite amazing what sweating a lil can get you. [...]
