This afternoon I suddenly thought of this question and I found myself dumb-founded.

“What have I been doing last week? What did I accomplish?”

I can’t answer it! My mind went complete blank. Like this

.

.

.

I had to go back to my calendar. Ok, I had some appointments.

Then, what?

Ok, I was doing what I had to do daily – blog, preparing my book for launch, doing some research.

Then, what?

See, I’m trapped! What exactly had I done to prepare my book for launch? Now that I have one week down, what are the pending tasks that need my attention and action?

Now as I’m doing my check list, I realised there are few things I could have done last week to prepare for this week. But I didn’t! So, what the hell have I been doing last week!

In the midst of writing posts for my blog which you have been reading (if you swing by daily you’ll know), I had forgotten to focus on some milestones I need to hit in order to meet my target date for my book launch.

I am very embarrassed to admit that I must have lost my focus. Maybe I’m too into the daily spate of things that I’ve lost sight of the big picture. You see, when we complete the daily tasks that we need to do, we don’t feel that it’s an achievement. It’s just well, something that needs to be done and I’ve done it. Period!

But is that really it? Hmm, I have some more thoughts on this. I’ll put it in another post so that we don’t go offtrack from what I want to say here and now.

The lesson to be learnt here is this – First Things First!

If you’re like me, buried in the pile of work to do every day, please, please learn to organise, prepare and prioritise so that when the time comes for you to accelerate and go, you have got all the equipment in place and you’re ready to fire away.

Staying focus is crucial! It is the one of the keys to success! Whether it is to woo that dream girl, or to leave work at 6 pm sharp, or to get your PhD, or to buy that million-dollar penthouse near the beach, if you don’t focus then you will not zoom past your distractions and reach the top.

Don’t be like me. I’m praying hard now that things will fall in place nicely so that my book launch can be smoothly carried out in time. So I have to step up and really start prioritising.

If you are lacking in this department, isn’t it time that you pick up the skills or find someone who’s an expert in doing this to organise for you?

Ok, I better list down what I need to do for this week now. See ya!

haha.. that’s exactly what happens to me week after week..

during the week, i would be so busy like hell.. but on a sunday night, when i reflect back on what i have achieved (stuff that are strategic to my goals and not counting the trivial things), i just wish to travel back in time and put in more effort.. arhhhh, wish a day could have more than 24 hrs..

oh, btw, good luck for ur book launch!! would be the first in line to buy.. haha.. or can i have one free of charge??

    =)

Sometimes, and somewhere, everyone gets this feeling. And what else can we say other than “We could have done this… we should have done that…” But most of the time, we are left with a tighter schedule than before or in some drastic cases, it’s already too late.
But I think you will be glad to know, First Things First – Check Kloudiia dot com. LOL!
