Inner Voice

Whenever I see a black pants of mine, I can’t help to laugh, in satisfaction, of my little triumph – in shopping ha!

Ok, let’s go back to the time when I was shopping for a black pants, to go with a particular top for a special occasion. It was sometime back in August 2005.

Having went to a few places and wasn’t successful in my spree, I finally stopped at my last destination before calling it a day – CK Tang. And viola! I spotted not one, but two pants which I felt would fit the bill, and so without any hesitation, I went to the fitting room to put them on. 2 results – one is more fitting, and cheaper, the other is slightly more baggy, and dearer.

I was split with these 2 “candidates”. So, I asked for some advices from the store assistants, and unanimously they recommended me to buy No. 1 – the cheaper and more fitting pair. Sounds logical, right?

At this time, or rather, all this while, I just have this little inner voice inside my head that, no matter how strong my logical analysis is (yes yes, people especially guys, even small thing like this need to expend on both logical and intuitive analysis yes) to go for No 1, I felt that I should go for No 2, even though it cost almost twice as much as the first pair!

Ha, well, you should know by now that my Inner Voice won! I bought the second pair, and boy, it’s really one of the best investment I’ve ever made so far hahaha ^o^b (ok, it’s a small victory, but heck, I’m still basking in this self-fulfillled enjoyment!)

Why am I so gleeful? Because, the material of the one I bought is so much more versatile as I realised I could match with more and more different types of top, for different occasions. I’ve since worn it to weddings, semi-formal events like magazine launching debuts, interviews etc. Now, if I had bought the first pair, even though it would cost me lesser, but due to the type of material it was made from (it’s those kind of rubbery type), I would probably wear it once for that one episode and that’s that!

When was the last time you solely relied on your intuition, or this inner voice inside your head to make a decision, despite all odds and turned out to be the right one? Have you ever wondered why this happen where and why this voice came about?

Or when was the last time you simply ignored this inner voice and went ahead with the most obvious answer from the logical and rationale angle? Was it the answer you were looking for, or not?

Sometimes, if we were to just pause a while and ponder, life seems to have many little things that happen for a reason, and at that point of time, this strange yet powerful force seems to be so acute that its either you just heed it, or you let it pass. Either way, you will realise it’s purpose and its intention for being there, sooner or later.
