It’s Thanksgiving! My Words Of Thanks To …

I wouldn’t have known it’s Thanksgiving Day today if not for a text message I got from dear YZ. Thanks hugs!

Today is Thanksgiving according to the US celebrations in wikipedia. Traditionally it is a day where we express our gratitude to God.  Now we are casting our nets wider to give thanks to not just God, and also our family and friends.

I began my day with a afternoon prayer. Well this time, instead of asking for anything, it is a prayer with nothing but thanks and gratitude to the Lord. Then I remembered I had actually penned down my words of thanks in a draft post long long time ago. It’s time to publish it now.

My Thanksgiving

I am feeling very grateful for many things and to many people in my life. This sense of gratefulness swells in me whenever some stimulants came into reaction. I’d like to put these nice feelings into this post, and hopefully, whoever is reading it now will rub off some of these good feelings, and start feeling good, with no good reasons.

I feel blessed, loved, happy and grateful when …

I am welcomed to the Kingdom of God;

I start receiving my first sms/phonecall/card to wish me Happy Birthday when the clock strikes 1200am that marks the day I was born, some 30x years ago;

I receive an sms giving me encouragement and support on the eve of some big event that I will be involved in;

someone asked me “How are you?”, out of genuine care and concern;

my mum called asking me to go home earlier for dinner as she had cooked me my favourite dish;

my boyfriend bought me a little gift, that shows that at that particular moment when he was buying or contemplating buying that gift for me, he was in fact thinking of me;

my sister shows more concern than I do over my rashes;

my boyfriend sms me out of the blue with messages like these “I miss you” and “I love you”;

I looked out of the window one fine day and feel the cooling air tingling my sensations right from my nose till the tips of my toes;

my dad called just to ask if I applied the cream for my rashes;

my granny complimented me for that pair of earrings;

a friend told me she wants to be my friend because she trusts me, even though we knew each other barely enough;

we have our selfless sharings in life and those home-cooked food made with lots of love in our RCIA home sessions;

I am enjoying a relaxing and calming massage or spa treatment after a long day of work or a period of stress;

friends stayed up at night and guided me when they knew I am driving and lost on the road, again;

I get compliments from readers telling me my entries had made a difference to them;

my friends and buddies send me greetings and wishes for special occasions like Valentine’s Day;

I hear glad tidings from friends;

I hear glad tidings from strangers;

I am appreciated by my loved ones for the things I’ve done for them and for which they are happy with them;

I have the freedom to pursue my passion for writing;

I can be who I am, and still blessed and loved.

Thank you all of you. You have made a difference in my life, and I am grateful for that.

Last but not least, I thank Lord for everything that He has given me.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. If you find this too long and boring, I’m sorry. (well not really ;) )

Give your loved ones and friends some gifts of love and gratitude. If you are lost in what to say, just say what comes to your mind, for that is the raw and unplugged sentiments you are feeling then. That comes from the heart.

Or, you can choose from one of these 8 Gifts!
