Lost And Found

Some of you may aleady know – I have moved.

So as with all relocation, you have to live in the new habitat with boxes for some time. It wasn’t until yesterday that they were completely cleared and unpacked. Hurray! No more boxes lying around taking up precious space. Phew!

This is not about boasting how bad good I am at packing. But about this little lesson I learnt – things go missing!

Initially, I will panic. Then I will ransack all the boxes and start a frantic search. Sometimes I got lucky. Other times I don’t. The item remains as a missing item.

Then, I learnt.

Whatever is missing will resurface.

That was when I started to relax. Because whatever that cannot be located was just misplaced temporary. It hadn’t vanished from earth.

What has this new found wisdom got to do with you? Maybe a lot. Maybe none.

Let me ask you. Have you ever been bothered by some problems that can’t be resolved soon enough? Efforts to seek for a solution turn out fruitless. You get sleepless nights. You lose your appetite. Lines of worry show up on your face.

When all seems lost, suddenly the light bulb turns on. When you least expect it.

Scenarios like this may be especially glaring when you are experiencing some major life events, like relocation, a new job, a new marriage, retrenchment, pregnancy and illness etc.

When faced with a totally new environment or scope of things, problems and challenges crop up, leaving you at times really helpless. You are in strange grounds.

Do you see the relation now?

We always get epiphanies. Answers will come to us. Could be while you were in the shower, cooking, chatting with someone, watching TV, reading a book, walking, listening to music, doing a brainless chore. The list of possibilities go on.

You will worry even more when you are undergoing one or more major change(s) in your life. It is no wonder that you will freak out and get anxious and nervous. At the same time, don’t you realise that the more you want to figure out a solution, the solution gets more and more elusive?

Maybe it’s really time for you to let go of the figuring out, as the problem has already been internalised in your mental system and the Universe has also got wind of it. Let the bigger force do the work, and notify you when the time is ripe.

In the meantime, continue to and always stay hopeful while keeping a close eye on the external environment for any possible help that may come your way.

I’ve just located the last missing item as I cleared the last few boxes, just as I’ve predicted.

There is always a flicker of hope somewhere out there.
