My best friend’s cousin is living with him now because of something her dad did and when I go over my friends house she always hangs out with my friend, his brother, and me. She always hangs out with them but just the other day I went to a movie theater with them (Chunky’s) and I won a necklace and a stuffed animal out of an arcade game there. I had no idea what the necklace said but I got it and she wanted it, I gave it to her and she looked at it and saw it said “love me lots” on it. She told me and I said I had no idea cause I didn’t. Ever since I gave her she has been wearing it and she wanted to win an orange carebear in the machine and I tried to get it for her but I just couldn’t. It was jammed in there, so I gave her the little dog I won (she was happy after I gave it to her).

I’m also a very nice guy and was helping everyone with errands (especially her) and when me and my friend went upstairs at midnight she came out of her room saying her stomach was hurting and she heard some noises and was scared. Me and my friend stayed up all night with her comforting her just like saying there is nothing there and we watched TV all night. My friend fell asleep at 5 in the morning and his cousin and I were just typing small messages on my cell phone to each other not making any noise. She went to bed at 6 and I stayed up all night just watching TV and thinking.

She is also older then me, I am 13 and she is 14. Recently I found a liking I had of one her friends and I told her that, She called her friend and told her friend. Her friend also likes me back but after the 4 nights I was over my friend’s house, I wasn’t attracted to the girl I like any more but I was attracted to my friend’s cousin. She usually hangs out with the boys when she is home (my friend, his brother, and her brother) and she hangs out with my friend’s sister as well but, she would rather spend it with my friend and the rest of the boys. She also laughs at almost all of my jokes and she used to hang out with me all the time when I was younger cause she used to live right up the street from me. I’m very atheletic and she is a cheerleader for the school. I’m also very very shy and afraid of rejection. She always dresses nice and I see myself before going over my friends house now sprucing myself up. I also might be going to sleep over his house again today. Please help me Kloudiia!” - T

Now, what is it that is bothering you? It seems you are having quite an enjoyable time hanging around in your friend’s house, doesn’t it?

Is the fact that she’s a year your senior troubling you? Or the fact that your feelings of attraction changed their owner over the course of 4 nights?

Whatever that is, you don’t seem to have any problems, or a big one if there really is one.

Now, what is holding you back from taking a step further to see if there’s anything that can and will blossom between you two? Is this your first love, so to speak?

If it is, then please do yourself this favour and savour every minute and every second of that unique kind of sweetness sandwiched between feelings of anticipation, wonder and excitement.

Whether or not you are shy, I’m sure you will be able to think of a way to express your feelings to her. Maybe you can enlist the help of your gang? Or if you prefer to be more private, then fiddling with her fingers while sitting next to her on the couch the next time you’re watching TV together can be a feasible idea to test how she feels towards you.

Having said all these, while you should treasure these moments of a blossoming relationship, please also pay attention to what you need to be attentive to, that is, your school work. You don’t want your parents barking your way asking why your grades had a sudden turn down south, do you?
