The rules of courtship are being re-defined! Well, soon I think, according to this poll.

The guys are still the one to do the chasing, as very obviously the girls still love to be flattered and honoured by the men! But, the men aren’t really agreeing with this. How so?  

That’s what has been shown from the last poll done. Out of 333 votes gathered, 47% of the respondents were ladies and a whopping 41% said they still prefer to be wooed and wowed by the guys!

The remaining 53% who polled were guys, and interestingly, only a marginal extra of 5% who voted prefer to chase the girl! So what happened to the rest of the guys?

Well, they belong to this generation of men who, instead of going after their fair ladies, would love to have the attention on them instead.

Yes, they actually enjoy being asked out by the lady for a date. Do they have what it takes for the girl to do that? Well, from what I’ve gotten after speaking to some of these guys, they seem to feel that we are no longer in the era where guys have to take the initiative all the time. 

That leads us to this issue of how proactive can a girl be, without being labelled as “desperate” or “ungirly”? As apparently, some men still freak out when the lady takes the first step.

As we see, there are always new trends and patterns emerging, even in this age-old area like dating. I guess that’s what makes the dating industry an evergreen one!

But even then, we all know that certain characteristics remain the same even after our great-grandparents have gone long ago. That men are hunters, and women are feelers. That men don’t really process information but women process too much and too long.

Again, this is also what makes the opposite gender so necessary, yet at times, so incomprensible!
