The Dos And Don’ts Of Love
20 Aug 2007
Rules rules and more rules! But much to our dismay and reluctance to follow them, they are everywhere.
Since we can’t beat them, then it’s probably much wiser to follow them, especially for the unspoken ones and in territories where we may be unfamiliar to start with – like love, dating and relationships.
What do we have then? I’ve listed down some that I can think of, like:
1. Do listen. Don’t interrupt or distract.
2. Do dress up. Don’t be too “up-dressed”.
3. Do relax. Don’t be nonchalant.
4. Do be genuinely interested. Don’t act as if you do.
5. Do be intimate. Don’t be alienated.
6. Do pay attention to your date/partner. Don’t get attention from him/her.
7. Do be gentle. Don’t be loud.
8. Do what your partner like you to do. Don’t do otherwise.
9. Do open the car door for the lady. Don’t bang the door in her face.
10. Do be sincere. Don’t be hypocritical.
11. Do laugh. Don’t fake humour.
12. Do share a life with your spouse/partner. Don’t steal his/hers away.
13. Do build a dream together. Don’t impose your world onto him/her.
14. Do things together. Don’t be apart.
15. Do speak up. Don’t mute your feelings.
16. Do comfort. Don’t trample.
17. Do love. Don’t take things and your partner for granted.
18. Do laugh with each other. Don’t laugh at each other.
19. Do seduce. Don’t turn off your charm.
20. Do discuss. Don’t decide for him/her.
As you are reading this, you may start to notice your mind coming up with more dos and don’ts of love. Why not share with us by leaving a smoochie?
