What is love? I chose, out of the many definitions in Dictionary.com, this one that best explains the romantic love in dating affairs:

1. A feeling of intense desire and attraction toward a person with whom one is disposed to make a pair; the emotion of sex and romance.

Ok guys, not that I am constantly reeling with love, but I was indeed inspired to write about this is by none other than the movie Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest. I shall not divulge too much of the plot, as I know you may not have seen it yet. As for those who have enjoyed this, yes, I am going to make reference to the part where Will Turner went all the way to retrieve the key to the chest from David Jones in order to save his bride-to-be Elizabeth.

I mean, yes it is a movie, meaning, it is not real. But, just look at how heinous, ghastly and ugly David Jones look, how mean, evil and cruel he is, his gruesome and terrifying crew, his undaunting ship “Flying Dutchman” and the ultimate powerful sea monster only David Jones can summon and command. Yikes!

Imagine all these dangers that Willl has to brave through, to swim through the dark murky waters in the deep dark dangerous sea, to steal the key kept close to David Jones’s body and to fight the sea monster, all in one name to save the love of his life. Oh! I shudder at the thought of it. Ok, I may be transporting these hair-standing feelings from onscreen to offscreen, and magnifying them, but hard core truth tells us in actual life, there are such moments which require your immense courage and wits to overcome in the face of danger and extreme hard challenges.

Can money and riches motivate you to brave such dangers, to the extent that death could actually be a possibility? What about other drivers like power and authority? I think not. Not where the threat is so imminent, a chance that your life may even be in jeopardy. If not the power of love, then what could it be?

Love gives us the strength to face troubles when we are weak. Love gives us the courage to venture when we are uncertain. Love gives us the peace and harmony we need to stay relaxed and blissful when we are stressed. Love gives us the warmth in our hearts when we need to have support and we know it is there. Love, is the answer to all problems.
