Tom Cruise & Katie Holmes: A Fairy Tale Wedding?

Okay I was way too slow to pick up this news. I only heard about this, literally, over the radio yesterday evening. It piqued my curiousity enough to google for it. Gosh, I found 27,300 sites with information about the latest craze sweeping across Hollywood and Italy!

Alright, in case you are like me, one of the super late bloomers, here’s the punch. Tom Cruise is going to marry Katie Holmes one day from now at the “medieval, fortress-like Odescalchi Castle on Lake Bracciano, 18 miles northwest of Rome” as quoted from one of the sites. Definitely a star-studded event that promises to be the event of the decade.

In case you really missed this, let me fill you in on another hot gossip. Oprah Winfrey was not being invited to their wedding! Oh this post really looks like a tabloid now!

Back to our real world.

This looks very promising to fulfill every girl’s dream of a fairy-tale wedding. I mean, Tom bought a USD20 million personal jet for Katie as her wedding present. How many of us can afford that?

But, why am I not at all excited? Of course, I’m not the bride! Hey, how difficult is that to even guess? *roll eyes*

Truth is, I really am not excited. In fact, the first thought that jumped to my mind when I got wind of this from the radio was “What a grossly hyped-up overrated publicity stunt, just on a wedding? Sounds more commercial than ethereal”

Is there really a perfect wedding? Is there anything that can be ever perfect in this universe? How about a perfect mate, perfect marriage, perfect children, perfect life. Wow, amazing!

Even as a Dating Specialist, I don’t believe there will ever be a perfect relationship or marriage. But what I do believe is, with the right knowledge, attitude and mindset, everyone can achieve the desired love and marriage. What then is so difficult to arrive at our preferred destination where love, affection, tenderness, happiness, joy, peace and excitement abound?

Give this some thought, cos you may find them in my upcoming book too! ;)

yeah man, i don’t see the need for extravagant weddings – they kinda put stress into the marriage, since everyone is expecting you to be super happy. hell, maybe you yourself expect things to be perfect. but we know there is no perfect lives. people just need to anticipate what will go wrong and be more open-minded and patient when things do, and work together for ways to solve their problems. that’ll make the marriage more robust, rather than fancy-ass weddings.
