In less than thirty days, Valentine’s Day is coming again!
Are you looking forward to it? Or are you dreading it? Or is it just another day for you?
Whatever it is for you I’m not sure. But what I’m sure is it’s certainly a day when merchants sit gleefully behind their desk counting the thick wads of cash at the end of the day!
So, as a Love Coach, I should be saying something about Valentine’s Day, shouldn’t I?
Ok, let’s see what I can come up with to give you guys some goodies lined up as we count down to V Day.

Gifts!
Would you like to know what are the gifts that I have received on this special day, since the first day I actually got someone’s attention long and strong enough to warrant him to fork out his school pocket money (and even savings) to buy me something?
Some gifts are dearer (in sense and in cents) while some gifts are not as dear. Nevertheless, they all form part of my fond memories whenever the calendar says 14 February.
So without further ado, here are the Valentine’s Day gifts I’ve received so far…
- A pink bunny – was that my first V Day gift? I can’t remember, but I think so. That day also happened to be the eve of Chinese New Year, and something happened that night which left a deep impression in my memoryÂ
- Flowers - I love flowers in case you don’t know.
- Bears – or any soft toys per se
- Watches – very long lasting gifts, many of which I’m still wearing now…
- Diamond (small ones ya, don’t let your imagination go too far my dear friends)Â pendants – some come with necklaces, some don’t
- Precious stones pendants
- Accessories – necklaces, bracelets (yay, I’m an accessory woman!)
- WalletÂ
- CDs
- Photo frames
- Diamond ring
- Cards! – I love receiving cards, especially the ones which my friends will actually write stuff inside. Love reading the words… always feel a surge of warmth inside my heart. Oh, and handmade ones too!
Not that impressively long huh? Hmm…
Â
While some gifts have outgrown me (or rather me outgrown them) like bears for instance, most of them are still very practical to give on Valentine’s Day in this present-day. Especially for the meaningful ones like cards.
If you’re wondering what to buy for your boyfriend/girlfriend/husband/wife/secret admirer etc, besides checking around and asking your friends for ideas, let me give you one very good one.
Pay attention to your partner and see or hear what he/she would like to have that he/she hasn’t already got. Sometimes he/she may be looking for just an act of service from you, rather than something tangible.
Ok, another one.
Bring him/her shopping! Watch where his/her eyes rest on for more than 10 seconds. Then, ask some critical questions to dig out more information. You may just land yourself on the big deal baby.
Ok, just one more. Last one I promise.
Look around your partner and notice if anything is wearing out or needs an immediate overhaul? By being observant and sensitive to things happening in your partner’s life, you are giving the gift more meaning than what it intrinsically has because of the love and effort you put into choosing and buying.
How about my 8 Gifts? They can come in handy too! Who says you can’t make everyday a Valentine’s Day!
